🛍️ Inflation Eases, Job Market & Debt Worry Consumers

According to the NY Fed reports, consumers expect inflation to ease to 3% over the next year and 2.8% in five years. However, anxiety about job security and debt is rising, with 13.6% fearing missed payments, the highest since April 2020. The likelihood of finding new jobs fell to 52.3%. Fed Chair Jerome Powell stated, "The time has come for interest rate cuts."

💰 IRS Reclaims $1.3B in Unpaid Taxes from Wealthy Americans

The IRS has recovered $1.3 billion in unpaid taxes from high-income Americans, part of an enforcement push funded by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. Targeting 125,000 wealthy taxpayers who’ve avoided filing, the IRS reports that 80% of 1,600 millionaires have now paid up. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated, "For too long, this hadn’t been happening. We're finally ensuring high earners pay what they owe."

📉 Jumbo 50 Basis Point Fed Rate Cut: No Cause for Alarm

The U.S. Federal Reserve can implement a 50 basis point rate cut next week without alarming markets, says Michael Yoshikami, CEO of Destination Wealth Management. He believes this would show proactive action without signaling severe economic concerns. The Fed’s decision, expected on Sept. 17-18, aims to support job growth. Yoshikami noted, “I would not be surprised if they jumped all the way to 50 basis points.”

🚨 Israeli Strikes on Gaza Humanitarian Zone Kill Dozens, Prompt Search for Survivors

Dozens were killed in an overnight Israeli strike on Al-Mawasi, a humanitarian zone in southern Gaza. At least 40 people were killed and over 60 injured as rescuers struggled to find victims buried under debris. Israel’s IDF claimed the strike targeted Hamas fighters, while Hamas denounced the attack as a war crime, accusing Israel of targeting civilians.

🚨 EU Claims Iran Sent Missiles to Russia Based on ‘Credible Information’ 

The European Union says it has "credible information" from its allies that Iran has supplied ballistic missiles to Russia. EU spokesman Peter Stano warned that Tehran could face new sanctions if these deliveries are verified. The EU, in coordination with its allies, is closely monitoring the situation and evaluating potential responses. Stano stated, "We are aware of the credible information provided by allies on the delivery of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia."

James Earl Jones, the legendary actor and iconic voice behind Darth Vader, has died at 93 in Dutchess County, New York. Renowned for his commanding presence, Jones voiced characters like Mufasa in The Lion King and earned two Tony Awards for his stage performances, including Fences. George Lucas praised him as “an incredible actor, a most unique voice in art and spirit.” 

🏈 49ers Ruin Rodgers' Jets Return with Big Win

Dubbed the Airport fire, it forced evacuations in Trabuco Canyon as intense heat and winds fueled its spread. Temperatures hit nearly 100°F, adding to the danger. Other fires in Southern California are also threatening the region, with firefighters struggling to gain control.
