🚫 PwC Hit with 6-Month Ban in China for Hiding Evergrande Fraud

Chinese authorities have banned PwC China for six months and fined them Rmb441mn ($62mn) for concealing audit fraud linked to Evergrande, a collapsed property developer. The firm approved accounts despite Evergrande inflating revenues by $80bn before defaulting in 2021. PwC’s Guangzhou branch has been ordered to shut down. PwC stated, “The audit work fell unacceptably below the standards we expect.”

Severe floods triggered by the heaviest rains in decades have left at least eight dead across central and eastern Europe, including Poland, Austria, and Romania. Thousands have been forced to evacuate as overflowing rivers submerged entire towns. Rescue operations continue, with authorities warning of ongoing dangers. Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated, “The situation is still very dramatic in many places.”

Deputy advisor Daleep Singh emphasized, "The drastic increase in de minimis shipments makes it harder to block illegal shipments."

🔍 FBI Probes Suspected Assassination Attempt on Trump in Florida

The FBI is investigating an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump at his Florida golf club. While Trump played golf, gunshots were heard, but he wasn’t harmed.
