💼 Private Sector Job Growth Slows to 152K in May, Below Expectations 

U.S. private sector job growth slowed significantly in May, with companies adding just 152,000 jobs, falling short of the expected 175,000. This marks the weakest job growth since January. Wage growth held steady at 5%, while job changers saw a reduced wage increase of 7.8%.  Nela Richardson, ADP chief economist stated, "Job gains and pay growth are slowing going into the second half of the year."

Nvidia surpasses Apple in market capitalization, reaching $3.01 trillion compared to Apple's $3 trillion marking Nvidia as the second most valuable company globally, trailing only Microsoft. Nvidia's dominance in the AI sector with its H100 chip and impressive profits have fueled this growth. As CEO Jensen Huang stated, "AI is the most powerful technology force of our time."

The United Nations' nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), censured Iran for refusing to allow inspectors access to its uranium enrichment program. The IAEA passed a resolution, toned down by the U.S., demanding Iran's cooperation. The resolution was supported by France, Britain, and Germany but opposed by Russia and China. Iran condemned the resolution, calling it "anti-Iranian" and politically motivated.

NBC, ESPN, and Amazon are nearing $76 billion deals with the NBA, spanning 11 years and set to begin after the 2024-25 season, reports The Wall Street Journal. These deals could mark the end of TNT's "Inside the NBA" show. NBC will pay $2.5 billion annually, Amazon $1.8 billion, and ESPN $2.6 billion. Barkley criticized TNT's executives, saying, "Morale sucks. Plain and simple."

🛑 Senate Republicans Block Birth Control Protection Bill

Senate Republicans blocked a bill protecting access to contraception, failing with a 51-39 vote. Only two Republicans, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, supported the measure, but it didn’t reach the 60 votes needed to overcome the filibuster. The vote, timed by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer around the Roe v. Wade anniversary, aimed to pressure the GOP. Murkowski stated, "I support a woman's access to contraception."
