✈️ Severe Turbulence on Singapore Airlines: One Dead, Several Injured

A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean, causing a sudden descent of 6,000 feet in about three minutes. One British passenger, a 73-year-old man, died, possibly from a heart attack, and dozens were injured, including seven seriously. The flight, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew, diverted to Bangkok.

State Assembly member Vince Fong won a special election to complete the term of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, which ends in January. The election was held on Tuesday in California’s 20th Congressional District. Fong, backed by Trump and McCarthy, defeated Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux with 60% of the votes. Trump endorsed Fong in February stating, "A true Republican."

⛽️ Biden to Release 1 Million Barrels to Cut Gas Prices Before July 4

President Biden will release 1 million barrels of gasoline from reserves in the Northeast to lower pump prices before the July 4 holiday. This strategic release aims to support the summer driving season and ensure supply flows to the region. Gasoline will be sold through competitive bidding to retailers and terminals by June 30. Jennifer Granholm Energy Secretary stated, “We are ensuring sufficient supply flows.”

🩺 Louisiana House Approves Bill to Restrict Abortion Pills

Louisiana has passed a bill categorizing abortion medications mifepristone and misoprostol as controlled substances. Possessing these drugs without a valid prescription will now be a criminal offense, punishable by fines, jail time, or both. This measure aligns with the state's existing laws that make abortion, both medical and surgical, illegal except under very limited circumstances.

This catastrophic EF5 tornado, which holds the record as the deadliest since 1950 according to the Storm Prediction Center, had a devastating impact. With a path length stretching 22 miles and a width reaching up to a mile at its peak, the tornado caused nearly 1,000 injuries.
